Copper Cabling

Our extensive experience of working with structured cabling makes ISG technology the right choice, whether you require a CAT5E, CAT6, CAT6A (10 Gigabit) screened or unscreened copper cabling system. We use only the highest quality cable components from our accredited partners and all our components are fully compliant with international and European standards.

Enhanced Category 5

Primarily developed to support Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-T), enhanced category 5 has been the standard for copper cabling for several years now and is the ideal medium for today’s high speed protocols.

Category 6

Category 6 offers more than twice the bandwidth of Enhanced Category 5 and is fast becoming the most popular choice for high spec installations. It provides an excellent platform for existing high speed applications and for future applications utilising high speed full duplex transport.

Fibre Optic Cabling

For high speed applications and over extended distances optical fibre is the most commonly used alternative to copper cabling. As an approved installer, ISG works with leading suppliers in the field of fibre optics to design and deliver high speed solutions that take into account distance of run and environmental conditions.

There are a number of options for 10 Gigabit Ethernet transmission over fibre - using either multimode or single mode cables. ISG will carry out a detailed survey of your requirements and then recommend the best design and solutions for your needs.

Blown Fibre

ISG technology is accredited to use its trained engineers to install the Blolite Blown Fibre solution. The Blolite system offers a complete range of high quality single mode and multimode optical fibres, with a blowable coating and having a finished size of 500 μm. The Blolite fibre is strippable with standard tools and is compatible with standard connector types. Fibre is available in twelve standard colours and is supplied on plastic spools in 1km, 2km, 3km or 4km lengths for installation into Blolite 3mm, 5mm and 8mm MicroDuct by trained and licensed Blolite installers using the IM2000 blow head.

Pre-terminated cabling reduces on-site engineer time

In any network infrastructure installation, time and cost are interlinked governing factors. Pre-terminated cabling reduces time on-site by over 50% and thereby reduces the overall installation costs.

Although this approach is not recommended for every customer or installation, it is an option where downtime is a business critical issue and access to the environment is limited. Here, pre-terminated cabling can offer a sensible solution to these challenges while also delivering significant cost benefits too. All terminations are carried out in a quality controlled factory environment and the performance of each cable link is tested before despatch. Once on-site each cable link is again tested as it is installed to make sure you can get up and running as quickly as possible.
