The recently rebranded PRS for Music has selected networking specialist ISG technology to upgrade their server networks with the latest virtualisation technology.
As part of their continuous improvement programme in the delivery of managed infrastructure services, ISG technology’s support technicians are now more than half way through a virtualisation programme on the 230 servers delivering host services to over 1,000 users at PRS for Music.
As well as the obvious benefits of reducing carbon footprints, power consumption and associated costs, PRS for Music has increased its existing server capacity, achieved higher levels of resilience and ensured the 99.9999 percent server availability performance requirements are delivered. Virtualisation has provided increased adaptability to key business applications and a more dynamic system architecture has resulted in resource flexibility, with systems now able to use additional resources on demand. Further benefits have been realised during disaster recovery testing, where system recovery time has been reduced by 50 percent.
“ISG technology demonstrated the appropriate technical resources and skills to improve our services to the required standard. The company is very professional, well prepared and offered good value for money,” said Robert Ferrari, IT Support Director for PRS for Music.
