ISG’s Virtual Performance for PRS

The recently rebranded PRS for Music has tasked technology specialist ISG to upgrade its server networks with the latest virtualisation technology.
 
As part of its continuous improvement programme in the delivery of managed infrastructure services, ISG’s Support technicians are now more than half way through a virtualisation programme on the 230 servers delivering host services to the 1,000 plus users at the recently rebranded PRS for Music.
 
As well as the obvious benefits of reducing carbon footprint, power consumption and associated costs, PRS for Music has increased its existing server capacity, achieved higher levels of resilience and ensured the 99.9999% server availability performance requirements are delivered. Virtualisation has provided increased adaptability to key business applications and a more dynamic systems architecture has resulted in resource flexibility, with systems now able to use additional resources on demand.  Further benefits have been realised during disaster recovery testing, where system recovery time has been reduced by 50%.
